ADDENDUM

Application of ElectraSeal to

TecCrete Concrete Filled Raised Access Panels

Method of operation / how it works: ElectraSeal ESD Concrete sealer is a hygroscopic coating that readily absorbs the ambient humidity in the environment, thus providing a level of electrical conductance. A static charge (normally generated as a by product of contact and separation by a technician walking on the flooring or rolling over the floor with a cart or chairs) is transferred to the static dissipative coating. Said charge is taken to electrical ground by the metal rim that goes around each TecCrete panel and passed to the grounded base of the structure. NOTE: There is no need to apply ground straps or other grounding methods to the coating (as is done with cast in place concrete slabs).

Application to  new, clean, TecCrete concrete filled raised access panels: Thoroughly remove the dust from the panels using a strong shop vac outfitted with a brush head. If needed; damp mop the panels with a dilute solution of ElectraClean and allow the panels to dry overnight. As needed; remove any scuff marks or residual oils from the panels using a microfiber rag and alcohol (observe safety precautions). Apply three thin even coats of ElectraSeal using a microfiber mop head or paint pad. Allow a minimum of one hour between coats for most environments. NOTE: Should the humidity at the job site exceed 60% extend the drying time to 3 hours per coat.

NOTE: Do not dilute this product. Allow each coat to dry for one hour (at least) before applying the next coat. For messy installers; the heads of the fasteners may be covered with paper peel and stick round washers (readily available from office supply stores). These are removed after the application of the E-Seal. There is no need to ground each panel as the metal lip surrounding the panel will take the electrostatic charge to ground. See Installation Instructions for Use Over Slab on Grade Concrete for other details prevalent to installation. NOTE: This documents supersedes Section 10 (concrete repair) and Section 11 (installation of ground straps) as listed in the aforementioned document titled Installation Instructions for Use Over Slab on grade Concrete.

Application of a top coat ElectraGlaze ESD floor finish: This step is optional. In most cases the ElectraSeal will provide a gloss level that is acceptable with out the use of further topical sealers.
