ElectraDyne

Technician Grounding and Compliance System

Ultimate Compliance Tracking, Optimum ESD Control

United SCP is pleased to present the addition of the ElectraDyne Technician Grounding and Compliance SYSTEM to our arsenal of products developed to meet the most stringent ESD standards in the industry. The ElectraDyne System is utilized in highly advanced esd (static control environments) to provide unparalleled operator grounding, compliance tracking, ISO documentation and security.

The development of this system has been provided in response to the needs of an Industry Leading Company utilizing the following criteria:

1) The system shall meet and exceed the latest, most stringent standards of EOS ESD S 2020 2007 as well as all applicable Mil specifications and standards. Nothing short of total compliance shall be excepted. The system shall be robust, cost effective and deployable as either a permanent or temporary system (the system must be reconfigurable).

2) The system shall eliminate the need for technicians that are standing to wear cumbersome wrist straps (thereby increasing mobility) while providing as good (if not better) personal grounding for ultimate class zero static control protection.

3) The system shall insure that the Technicians are grounded the entire time they are in the ESD protected area. The system will facilitate grounding of metal carts, man lifts etc via attachment of drag chain to said equipment.

4) The systems shall securely track and document the ESD compliance of all technicians entering the protected area.  Documentation of compliance shall be automatically stored in a computerized database for ISO and Internal ESD audit verification.

5) The system shall Alert management should non compliant technicians try to enter protected area. Exception logs may be pulled at anytime by supervisory management.

6) The system shall be clean room and RoHS (lead free) compliant

The ElectraDyne Technician Grounding and Compliance System shall be installed and Certified by United SCP Incorporated utilizing the following items. Note: All testing will be conducted utilizing NIST traceable equipment.

URAS releasable textile reinforced flooring adhesive

Full perimeter 2" wide aluminum grounding foil

Titanium ESD Sheet vinyl and heat weld rod

MTR / SS SC 8900 ESD wrist and heel strap testing unit, stand, footplate, HID card reader and associated software interfaced with Pentium class or higher computer via appropriate cabling. Note: devices may be networked and can provide compliance tracking of over 5000 technicians. Units to be set up to notify supervisors of compliance issues

United SCP or similar Full sole esd heel grounders with built in standard 1 meg safety resistor.

System deployment overview: A client designated area of existing flooring shall be damp mopped, allowed to dry and covered with URAS textile reinforced adhesive.  A full perimeter ground of 2" wide electrical grade aluminum grounding tape will be installed and attached to 4 specific grounding locations as designated by client.  Said adhesive and perimeter grounding shall be covered with Titanium ESD conductive sheet vinyl flooring.  All seams of said flooring shall be heat welded to industry standards.  Said flooring system shall be certified to industry accepted standards of  EOS ESD / ANSI S 7.1 and 97.1 (electrical resistance) with testing procedures reflecting electrical resistance to ground, electrical resistance point to point and electrical resistance of technician / heel grounders and flooring. SC 8900 esd heel strap and wrist strap testing units shall be assembled as specified by the manufacturer in locations dedicated as entry points to the secured esd protection area.

System and Method of Operation

1) Technician wishing to enter secured esd area places full sole grounding devices over shoes (both feet).

2) Technician scans employee HID card at test meter location.  Technician's name appears on computer screen and prompts to push test button while standing on test plate.  Compliant (straps passing) technicians are allowed entry to secured area.  Results of testing are logged by testing device.  Non compliant technicians (straps failing) are prompted to re-test. Results of testing are logged into testing device.  If problem is not corrected an exception report can be immediately generated and emailed to supervisor.  This testing device may be used to open / or lock electronic doors (should this be required). A daily, weekly, monthly or yearly log of entry into the secured esd area may be generated.  These reports include testing times, test results, passing and failing compliance and exact resistance levels of straps. These reports may be printed or emailed at any time by authorized personnel.

3) When pre tested (compliant) technicians take the first step on the Titanium ESD flooring electrostatic charge decay is instantaneous (<.1 sec per Federal Test Method 101 B, Method 4046 @ 15%rH).  Electrostatic Propensity per AATCC 134 (with heel grounders has been shown to be < 20 volts (lower than technicians wearing wrist straps).  A technician in combination with heel straps, Titanium esd flooring and ground has been documented at client facility as being in full compliance with EOS ESD ANSI 97.1 passing results of <3.5E07.
