Unlike standard off
the shelf carpeting merely marked as anti-static United SCP
antistatic carpeting is electrically conductive. Hence will
provide years worth of uninterrupted, REAL static control
protection. Insulative dirt and film forming detergents can
compromise it's conductivity. Maintaining a REAL static control
carpet is not "just like" maintaining regular carpeting!

WHY ANTI STATIC CARPETING?
A person can't see
or feel a static discharge below 5, 000 volts. Yet Sophisticated electronics
(such as computers and servers) are barraged with static discharges BELOW
5,000 volts on a daily basis! Although the manufacturers' do their best to
shield electronics it's common for static to cause a multitude of glitches.
Some minor, some catastrophic. In the consumer market most
electrostatic discharges (or ESD event's) are caused by people. Static is
generated by the contact and separation of an employee's shoes against the
flooring and their clothing rubbing against their skin. The static
charge is stored on the body and when this charge is released into (or
around) microelectronics "issues" occur.
WHAT'S
THE DIFFERENCE IN MAINTENANCE?
The
higher the electrical conductivity the less of a
static charge. All anti-static carpets are not
created equal. A typical anti-static carpet is
barely conductive. Typical anti static carpeting
will neither allow a person to generate static NOR
allow a person to dissipate static. If a
person generates static from their clothing( rubbing
against their skin) or comes into a room (covered in
typical anti static carpet) the charge they carry
will not go away. ALL carpeting manufactured
or distributed by United SCP is static CONDUCTIVE
(has a high electrical conductivity) and is
electrically grounded. Hence, static charges are
reduced to the lowest of levels. Our carpeting is
permanently static conductive and requires no
topical treatments or sprays to maintain it's
outstanding conductivity. Only one thing gets
